More information on PGE rebates and URGENCY

A few days ago I promised to post more information about the URGENCY connected with the fast-diminishing PGE rebates. I asked Kent Halliburton from REC to make me up a small spreadsheet with lots of information about rebates for different sized systems.

Kent suggested a better way to explain the financial effect of the rebates becoming smaller and smaller, and since it was so easy to understand, I thought that I would just quote him directly:

......a $.30/Watt decrease (in rebate) will translate into: $900 lost “free money” on a 3 kW system, $1200 on a 4 kW, $1500 on a 5 kW system, etc…

So--if you are going to install a 4.5 kW system, you will pay $1350 more when the rebate goes from $2.30 to $1.90 a kW, (which, it is anticipated, will happen sometime in March), than if you commit before the rebates go lower. Once the rebate changes, there is nothing REC or Sun Run can do to get it back--it's a PGE rebate, and when its gone, it's gone.

This is the reason why we are trying so hard to reach as many people as possible and why we are advising fast responses from everyone.

As always, please contact us if there are questions.
